Dr. Geralyn McClure Franklin

Dr. Geralyn McClure Franklin became Dean of the College of Business at the University of Dallas in May 2009. She served as the dean of the College of Business at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg from July 2006 until May 2009. Dr. Franklin also served as dean of the School of Business at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin from 1999-2006, director of the Division of Management and Marketing at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 1998-1999, and chair of the Department of Management, Marketing, and International Business at Stephen F. Austin State University from 1994-1998.

During her career, Dr. Franklin has taught in the areas of human resource management, employee and labor relations, and employment law. She has published numerous articles on human resource management, employment law, and small business management and entrepreneurship issues in various journals. Dr. Franklin has co-authored four textbooks. Her most recent textbook, Employment Regulation in the Workplace: Basic Compliance for Managers, was published in 2010 by M.E. Sharpe, Inc.

Dr. Franklin has served in various leadership roles in academic and professional organizations. As of July 1, 2010, she began a three-year term on the AACSB International Board of Directors. Previously, she served as an AACSB board member from 2003-2006, on the Audit Committee from 2004-2006, and as chair of the AACSB Constitution and Bylaws Committee in 2006-2007. Dr. Franklin also serves as conference site selection coordinator for the Southern Management Association. She is a past president of the Southwestern Business Deans' Association, the Council of Texas Business Deans, the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the Small Business Institute, the Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship, and the Southwest Academy of Management.

A Texas native, Dr. Franklin received a Ph.D. in Personnel and Industrial Relations from the University of North Texas and her MBA and BBA degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University.
