Overnight Vists
What should I bring?
  • Overnight visits are only offered during the academic year (September-April) and are exclusive to high school seniors.
  • Pack a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, personal items, a couple changes of clothes, and anything you would normally need for an overnight stay.
  • Overnight visitors should be prepared to sleep on the floor of their host's bedroom and to share communal bathrooms.
  • Hosts may have obligations including a class, studying, club meetings, and even work study positions on campus while hosting a prospective student. It is suggested that overnight visitors bring homework, reading, and a flexible attitude for the visit.
  • The overnight stay includes uo to three meal tickets for you to enjoy meals in the dining facility.
  • Due to limited space, we are unable to provide on-campus accommodations for family members or friends accompanying prospective students. Family members or friends who need a place to stay can take advantage of arrangements we have made with several specially selected area hotels for UD visitors. Visit the hotels page for more information.

Guidelines for setting up an overnight visit:

  • Overnight visits are available Sunday through Thursday nights only.
  • Request your visit at least two weeks in advance.
  • Overnight visits are scheduled in conjunction with our current calendar. We may be unable to accommodate requests for specific dates due to breaks, long weekends, campus events, etc.
  • Overnight visits are not available during Thanksgiving break, Final Exam Week, Christmas break, or during the Summer. For a more specific outline of dates to avoid, click here.
