>> Why Dallas?

The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is an ideal place to both learn and play during your four years studying at the University of Dallas. DFW boasts more than 35 museums, over 15 performing arts venues, and major league basketball, baseball, soccer, football, and hockey sporting teams. Through Dallas Year – a university-sponsored program – first year UD students enjoy the diverse cultural offerings of the Metroplex each month alongside faculty, staff, and peers.

Additionally, 25 Fortune 500 Companies headquartered in DFW - including Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Exxon Mobil Corporation, and Texas Instruments – over 90 hospitals in the area, and other local businesses, media markets, and nonprofit organizations extend the classroom experience for students through observation, mentoring, and internships. Beginning in 2011, these opportunities will become even more accessible to UD students with the opening of a DART Light Rail station on the University of Dallas campus.

Whether you prefer shopping at Dallas' Galleria mall, jogging along the Trinity River in Fort Worth, sampling the food offerings at the Texas State Fair, or exploring history at the Sixth Floor Museum, there is something for everyone in Dallas/Fort Worth as a visitor and as a student.
